Protect Your Pets in Your Estate Plan
Do you have a pet that you consider to be a member of your family? My husband, RJ, and I don’t have pets now, but we enjoy pet sitting for our “nephews,” Bentley (a springer spaniel) and Cole (a black lab). We hope to add a dog to our family sometime in the near future. If you have a beloved pet, make sure that pet would be taken care of if anything happened to you. You can nominate a guardian for your pet, and you can even set up a pet trust in your estate plan to provide money and instructions for your animal’s care.
